VISIT RAMSTEIN AIR BASE 2018

25 and 26th of July 2018. 2 Day visit at Ramstein Air Base (behind the fence off course).

In very hot conditions I visited with 3 other friends/spotters Ramstein Air Base.

We had unfortunately a lot of heat haze and work was ongoing at runway 09/27.

Giving us not the ideal angle for nice pictures, biggest aircraft were too close to our spot. But I like the traffic on Ramstein very much, certainly all the big boys. I would like to visit once inside the base but that's almost impossible. 

Ramstein Air Base is a United States Air Force Base located in Rhineland-Palatinate. 

This is the headquarters for : 

- United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA)

- NATO Allied Air Command (AIRCOM)

Runways : 08/26 - 3,200 metres & 09/27 - 2,828 metres

Lots of units are based at Ramstein. Too much to add all those units.

Main units are 86th Airlift Wing / 435th Air Ground Operations Wing /521st Air Mobility Operations Wing / 21st Theater Sustainment Command & Allied Air Command.
