B-'HUNTER'

The IAI B-Hunter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

Also this one is out of service since 2020. 

In 2023 this B-Hunter should be replaced with the next generation MQ-9B 'SkyGuardian'.

Manufactured by General Atomic Aeronautical.

This MQ-9B series is an improvement of the MQ-9 series allowing better performance, lower operating and sustainment costs and access to all classes of airspace.

This UAV's are based at Florennes, 80th UAV Squadron.

The operational range between the Ground Data Terminal (GDT) and the air vehicle, is approximately 100 km's. 

This UAV is powered by two engines. The forward engine drives a two blade tractor propeller and the rear engine drives a two blade pusher propeller.

Today those unmanned vehicles are mainly used for reconnaissance and observation flights above sea, harbours (Vigilant Guardian), nuclear installations etc...

Since 2004 the Belgian Air Force use 13 B-Hunters and together they have already a total of 5.000 flight hours.
