VISIT GLV-5
Low Level Training site

'GLV-5' or 'Oirschotse Heide' in the Netherlands is a military exercise terrain used by the Royal Netherlands Air Force / Army Forces / Marechaussee & Navy Forces.
This low flying area is mainly used by units stationed at Gilze-Rijen Air Base and accessible for civilians which give you the opportunity to make spectacular pictures.
Often you can see here AH-64 Apache, AS.532 Cougar and CH-47 Chinooks.
This location is very close to the nearby Eindhoven Airport which allows spotters to combine both places.
Nevertheless it is often a gamble to visit this place, not every day helicopters are flying in this area.
And it's a dangerous place for your gear. Photo gear and sand are really not the best combination.
Below some pictures taken at the GLV-5, the third time I visit this place I was lucky to see 2 Chinooks. (D version is phasing out in the coming years)
