Sanicole Sunset Show

Saturday 10th of September 2022. 

For the first time, the spotter's day at Kleine Brogel Airbase and the Sunset show at Sanicole were scheduled together on a Saturday. Normally the sunset show is organized on a Friday.

There was only one description possible for this day: RAIN and RAIN.

The spotters day was due to the weather one of the worse which I ever visited.

But also the program was not worth the money we paid. 

Nevertheless, safety remains a priority.

Therefore no pictures below of this spotter's day.

The Sunset show at Sanicole was also full of changes and cancelations.

But luckily we had some badass teams and pilots who would fly anyhow.

Teams like the Saudi Hawks & Turkish Stars tried at least to give us something.

Also, the Belgian Air Force with F-16AM piloted by CDT VL Steven 'VRIESKE' De Vries & Agusta A-109 display team tried to display a decent show.

Some helicopters arrived previously in a small sunny window without performing.

But we had also positive news, for the first time on Belgian soil, the F-35 demo team, which was spectacularly flown by Major Kristin "Beo" Wolfe. 

What a display with a Lockheed Martin F-35A 'Lightning II' loaned from the USAF 495FS 'Valkyries' based at Lakenheath AFB. The aircraft used was 19-5475 (AF303).

The humidity in the air has given this display something extra. (see pictures)
